I'm a longtime book lover and movie geek who likes analyzing, editing and improving stories, whether it's the message and experience on a website or the plot of a screenplay. In my free time I do standup comedy, or as I like to call it "failing recreationally." I live in a loft with my amazing husband, two rascally kids, too few walls and one very patient pooch.
My Philosophy
I Can't Please Everyone
But I Can Always Be Pleasant

In the past, I used to aim for perfection. Then I started doing standup comedy. Now I know there’s no such thing.
You see, no matter how well you plan and prepare, some audiences connect with your ideas and some simply don’t. When you aim for perfection, you are easily tossed to and fro by the critic of the moment. Standup teaches you that what really matters isn’t the critic, but how you respond. When you lash out or get desperate, you lose every time. But when you pleasantly take it in stride, and purposefully adapt, people will stick with you as you figure it out.
Today, I apply this principle to everything I do. I embrace vulnerability by sharing work early and often. I stay engaged with feedback. I am deliberate, optimistic and kind. I still try to do my best work, but I try even harder to work as my best self.
